Engineering Testing On Peno Guard™
The qualified engineer who tested and approved Peno Guard™ is named William Osmo of T.O.P Consulting Group.
There are two aspects we needed to test:
First is the reaction of the device: We tested it by applying loads in different manners and then analysing the
reactions of the device under these loads. For example, we tested it for vertical loads, impact loads such as
running impacts by a heavy person, side loads… basically any possible loads that might happen on site.
Second, once we understood how the device reacted to various ways of loading, we continued loading the device
until it was destroyed – this was to test the ultimate load the device could take before it finally gave way.
With the assistance of the engineers, we continued to revise and improve Peno Guard until it met all the strict
safety requirements and the industry standards.
The latest version of Peno Guard™ is a single device with two steel mesh barriers on it. The device can be
easily installed, used and removed by one single person, and it can take up to half a tonne before it gave way
which is considered very safe for its use in the industry – it’s very unlikely for any one person to hit half a
tonne which is equivalent to a walking truck!
